Fourth of July Festivities!

July has been a busy month! We started off by going to Peggy's in Nehalem for the annual "reunion" weekend (before July 4th). The first pictures are from then (and we visited the beach in Bay City too). Isn't the picture of Malia & Jacob so cute?? He is the son of Peggy's friend Sally...and they get along great. They look like they could be brother/sister.

The next pictures are from the July 4th parade in Hillsboro. It was a HOT one.....but we had fun. My 2 beefs from the parade: 1. Why don't the jets fly over anymore at the start of the parade? 2. Where is the parade/candy getting etiquette? Don't people know the space in front of the curb you are sitting on is YOUR CANDY GETTING SPACE??? Please teach your kids this. It is so annoying! :O)

Malia's Dance Class

Now that it's Summer...and Malia is out of preschool for a few months, we decided to take a ballet & tap dance class through Tualatin Hills Rec. Center. She **loves** it! It is an 8 week class, and they alternate ballet & tap each week. Malia especially loves taht she gets to take the class with Mia Coats. That's her in the pink top and shorts next to Malia.
These pictures are from the first day of class - when we got to stay and watch. She now has an "official" dance leotard, tights & skirt........so fun!

aNotHer bEacH tRip!!!!!!

Hello~
I thought I would post some (okay, a lot) of pictures from our beach trip at the end of May. We had a great time. The weather was nice (most of the time) and Dad, Janet & the The Derrah's were down too. We flew kites, saw deer (look at how close the deer was to our driveway), climbed up the sand dune, saw whales in the ocean (from the top of the dune/cliff), had a bbq, went to the annual rummage sale at the Senior Center and enjoyed the beach!

I love the pictures of Rourke & Malia climbing up the sand dune and especially the one of them coming down. Oh, and we almost had our car towed for parking in the wrong place on the beach.......

Bye for now~

Okay, I didn't want to leave Alex out.....here are some recent pictures of him doing what he does best...eating & ......just hanging out!
The first picture was his first time eating spaghetting.
(Riveting news...I know!)

Preschool Fun!

Hola!
Here are some pictures from Malia's "nature walk" field trip. The last picture is from her school carnival this last friday...and she is having her face painted. She chose a heart.

2. Malia & her friend Katherine (in pink) watching butterflies.
3. Malia & her friend Quinn on the trail at the end of the nature walk.
4. Face painting at the school carnival

A Walk to the Park

Hello!!

It's been awhile, but here are some pictures we took at the park last weekend. It's really close to our house, and there is a little "nature path" next to it too. Malia & Rourke rode the "crazy swing" while Alex enjoyed a more relaxing ride. It was a great day!

Mark your calendars! The "Crafty Ladies" is having it's first Spring Bazaar. It is Friday & Saturday (April 27-28) from 10am - 6pm. The address is: 16220 SW Nighthawk Drive in Beaverton.

Hope you can make it.

Easter Weekend Beach Trip

Easter weekend we took a quick trip down to Pacific City on Friday and then Nehalem on Saturday. Here are some pictures from our walk on the beach Friday evening with Dad (Grandpa Chuck) and Jan (Grandma Jan). We brought a kite to fly, but there was no wind! Malia was so excited to fly her "Tinkerbell" kite...and it was a bust! By the end of the walk we had broken part of the kite, so it looks like we'll have to start from scratch on the kite flying. Malia loved the sand & water, even though it was **cold**! (She went through a phase where she wouldn't even walk on the sand. Glad that is over!) Alex wasn't sure about it at first, but I think he liked the whole beach thing by the end.
On Saturday we headed up to Nehalem to visit YAYA Peggy, Uncle Jeff, Gordon & Maria. Peggy had a friend Sally there, who has a son named Jacob who is also 3. He and Malia had a lot of fun playing pirates and more!
We came home Saturday night to get ready for the Easter Bunny's arrival. He left WAY too much candy. Ugh. Not good for someone with a sweet tooth.
Bye for now~~~~~~

Zoo Trip!

I'm a little behind at getting these posted...we took a trip to the zoo 2 weeks ago with Mindi, Mia & James. It ended up being a little colder up there than we expected.......but it was a good time nonetheless. (is that how you spell that?) Mia & Malia have so much fun together......Alex and James strolled along in their strollers. Someday soon they will hopefully play as well together as Malia & Mia. Here are a few pictures. I always take too many... I had to throw in a shot of the giraffes, which are my favorites! ;O) We were hoping to see the special "Black Bear" exhibit, but unfortunately it was closed on the day we were there. It was fun to see a huge black bear next to the brown bear (fake/stuffed) by the gift shop. Malia really didn't want anything to do with it........I couldn't get her to stand between his legs for a picture. :) The day ended with Mia & Malia getting souvenir pennies that were stamped with an elephant and monkey.
