The Christmas Tree - Dec 2007

Hello. Here I am again, playing catch up on pictures. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. Ours was great - but always so busy right at the end. At the beginning of December I always feel like I have so much time to get everything done, then all of the sudden one day I feel panicked that there is no time left and I have so much to do. I never feel that "in the middle" place. I'm not sure why. I think part of my problem is I always add more things to do or make because everything seems so fun & festive in December.

Here are a few pictures fom the Christmas tree farm in Yamhill where we got our tree. It's quite a drive, but we always like the horse ride on the covered wagon, hot chocolate & cookies and the Frasier (sp?) Firs they have. This year it was snowing when we headed out there, but it didn't stick. We missed the horse ride twice (because of all the people) and didn't buy a Frasier Fir because they were either too big or half dead inside. Ugh. We are thinking of finding another (closer) spot for next year.......especially with 3 kids! Does the gas station still sell trees? Ha ha! (Oh - I forgot to add, I threw in my old pair of tennis shoes, and went to put them on and had 2 left feet!! How is that possible, I thought - but I have 2 nearly identical pairs of this brand of shoe.......so to top it off, I got to hike the tree farm in my good (suede) shoes!)

Here are couple of picture of that day and our tree at home. I forgot to get a picture of it after we cut it.

Catching Up on Pics~ October

Hello!!

Here I am after being MIA for over a month. Where does the time go? Well, October was fairly busy with birthdays, Halloween and then a round of sickness that seemed to last forever once we passed it around. Alex spent a night in the hospital in November with a bad case of croup.....which was scary. I was busy getting ready for 3 craft bazaars, the last one of which was today. I was less productive than I had hoped, but oh well!

Here are some pictures from October.

Pumpkin Patch Pics

Hello!
We took our 4th annual trip to the Plumper Pumpkin Patch on Sunday October 14th (HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!) with Peggy and Mary. The weather was perfect for a fall day.....cool, dry and foggy! The kids rode ponies, saw the animals, went down the huge slide (and little slide), did the 2 hay mazes, picked out pumpkins, did the "pumpkin shoot" with a big sling shot, and ate KETTLE KORN! After all that fun we stopped at Rock Creek Tavern (McMenamin's) for a great lunch.

enjoy the pictures!

I'm playing catch up on pictures. here are a **ton** from Labor Day weekend. We went to Pacific City, then down to Newport to visit the Aquarium. The pictures got a little out of order when I posted.....but you can probably tell which are from the aquarium. ;)

Stephanie & little Olivia were down for the weekend too and Malia was so excited to have a new friend there. Olivia is just 3 months younger than Malia. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed the beach and the big sand dune.
The Derrahs were down too and we met up on the beach.

Enjoy the pictures.

September in the Back Yard

When we are not out running around (or it's not too hot)the kids and I like to have a long lunch in the back yard, look for bugs, try to catch butterflies, and watch for planes & helicopters. :) Exciting I know!
Here are a few pictures from an afternoon earlier this month. Alex now likes to do what his "big sister" does.
Happy Fall.....almost!

Our Squirrel Friend

Here is a picture of one of the neighborhood squirrels. We tossed out a few nuts and sunflower seeds and today we had not 1 but 2 squirrels visit us. I caught this one running away with a nut in his(?) mouth.
