A Walk to the Park

Hello!!

It's been awhile, but here are some pictures we took at the park last weekend. It's really close to our house, and there is a little "nature path" next to it too. Malia & Rourke rode the "crazy swing" while Alex enjoyed a more relaxing ride. It was a great day!

Mark your calendars! The "Crafty Ladies" is having it's first Spring Bazaar. It is Friday & Saturday (April 27-28) from 10am - 6pm. The address is: 16220 SW Nighthawk Drive in Beaverton.

Here are a few things I was working on last night:

I have about 10 other types things I am hoping to make before then. :O)

We will have a great assortment of things from lots of different artsy/craftsy gals.

Hope you can make it.

Easter Weekend Beach Trip

Easter weekend we took a quick trip down to Pacific City on Friday and then Nehalem on Saturday. Here are some pictures from our walk on the beach Friday evening with Dad (Grandpa Chuck) and Jan (Grandma Jan). We brought a kite to fly, but there was no wind! Malia was so excited to fly her "Tinkerbell" kite...and it was a bust! By the end of the walk we had broken part of the kite, so it looks like we'll have to start from scratch on the kite flying. Malia loved the sand & water, even though it was **cold**! (She went through a phase where she wouldn't even walk on the sand. Glad that is over!) Alex wasn't sure about it at first, but I think he liked the whole beach thing by the end.
On Saturday we headed up to Nehalem to visit YAYA Peggy, Uncle Jeff, Gordon & Maria. Peggy had a friend Sally there, who has a son named Jacob who is also 3. He and Malia had a lot of fun playing pirates and more!
We came home Saturday night to get ready for the Easter Bunny's arrival. He left WAY too much candy. Ugh. Not good for someone with a sweet tooth.
Bye for now~~~~~~

Zoo Trip!

I'm a little behind at getting these posted...we took a trip to the zoo 2 weeks ago with Mindi, Mia & James. It ended up being a little colder up there than we expected.......but it was a good time nonetheless. (is that how you spell that?) Mia & Malia have so much fun together......Alex and James strolled along in their strollers. Someday soon they will hopefully play as well together as Malia & Mia. Here are a few pictures. I always take too many... I had to throw in a shot of the giraffes, which are my favorites! ;O) We were hoping to see the special "Black Bear" exhibit, but unfortunately it was closed on the day we were there. It was fun to see a huge black bear next to the brown bear (fake/stuffed) by the gift shop. Malia really didn't want anything to do with it........I couldn't get her to stand between his legs for a picture. :) The day ended with Mia & Malia getting souvenir pennies that were stamped with an elephant and monkey.

Here are a few pictures from the "mini-party" we had for Alex's birthday. I love the first picture....it's Malia keeping Alex away from the flame of the birthday candle. :O) I think she could almost run the household at 3. The cake was decorated in about 5 minutes....but, because Alex is only 1, I didn't think he would care. After tying both the chocolate cake and a white cupcake, we now know that Alex DOESN'T LIKE CHOCOLATE CAKE! Whose child is this? Ha ha. Of course he wouldn't take a nap this day, so he is about to fall asleep as he eats cake.
Bye for now~~~~~

Tara & Trent Tie the Knot!

Sorry for being a bad blogger this past week. I guess it was a busy week.

My Niece Tara got married on St. Patrick's Day (March 17th) to Trent Thompson.......it was a perfect day for a beautiful wedding. The ceremony was held at the
Brooks Hill Church up on Skyline. The reception was held at the "Octogonal Barn" at the Cornelius Pass Roadhouse. Such a cool place!!

Malia was a flower girl in the wedding and did a great job! After the rehearsal (which I made the mistake of waving at her, then winking at her...which she then did during the entire rehearsal) I had to talk to her about not winking or waving during the wedding.......and luckily it worked! There was no winking or waving during the ceremony. What I did NOT talk about was "thumbs up" which she ended up doing down the aisle and I think on the way back. Maybe even a couple of times during the ceremony. I think I have blocked it out...or was too busy wrestling Alex, who didn't want to sit still (but he's only 1, so we cut him some slack).

It was a beautiful wedding.......Tara & Trent honeymooned in Hawaii and flew back home to Alaska today. We are anxiously awaiting there move down closer to "home".

Here are a few pictures. I might post more later. I took a ton!

Happy 1st Birthday Alex!

WOW! I can't believe how fast time flies. It's already been a year. Alex is now walking pretty good....and is still fairly mellow and patient. Hopefully that will NOT change. :) Here is a picture from 1 year ago, and one from now. We woke up and made Birthday Cupcakes for Alex!!!!!!!!!! Of course Malia helped and thought he would like pink frosting. ;) We made a few pink then moved on to the other colors. Have a great day!
p.s. HAPPY BIRTHDAY To Guy & Gayle who are also celebrating birthdays today! Woo-Hoo!

Rub-a Dub-Dub

Hello All (if anyone is out there)......just thought I'd share a cute picture of Alex & Malia in the big tub. Alex is loving taking baths in it......except for the jets. We tried that once and it scared the p@@p out of him! HOpefully he'll like them soon because we find that makes the bubbles **HUGE** and fun. Malia also likes having some company in the tub. She loves having a brother and will randomly just say "I'm so happy to have a baby brother." (awwwwwww). :)

Love This Mirror!

Okay, I have found it. I know you were on the edge of your seat hoping I would post a picture of the mirror I mentioned in my last post. I love how this mirror looks painted turquoise. It was gold and fairly ornate.......pretty cool now. What do you think? Maybe not for the main room in the house, but really cool in a craft room or something. :O)

Cool Craft Stuff

I just had to share a couple of neat things I have run across online. The first is this cool craft space with the neat turquoise table in the center. I wish I had the picture of the really awesome *huge* mirror that was painted kind of like the table. Next.......this little fabric covered scrapbook is super cute. How do people come up with these things???
It makes me want to do something cRaFtY!!!

Just a Picture

This is a sample of what all the recent attempts to get a good picture of Malia and Alex (together) looks like.
:O) Nice!!

Playing Princess & Queen of the Swans

It's been awhile since I have posted......due to a very unpleasant stomach flu that seemed to last forever......and a change in this "blogger" that I didn't have the patience to figure out! So....here I am. Here are a couple of pictures from a few weeks ago when we went to my friend Cindy's house to play & decorate cookies with Mackenzie, Flynn and Jaxon (Kandi's son). The girls played dress up (Mackenzie was "Queen of the Swans" and Malia was a princess. Pink is her **favorite** color.

It was a good time!
