HAPPY THANKSGIVING....a little late!

Hope you all had a terrific Thanksgiving! We just got home from spending 2 nights at Yaya's in Nehalem. Had a nice quiet Thanksgiving feast with Yaya & Uncle Jeff (2 turkeys, 3 pies, etc!). The weather was wet and stormy, but Yaya and Malia did manage to spend a little quality time in the hot tub. Thanks to UNKA for the computer updates!! Yippee!!

On Friday we headed down to Pacific City and stayed at Dad & Jan's. We missed most of the Bestul family by the time we got down there....but did get to see Bryon, Janna, Kevin, Lauren (Kevin's girlfriend), Mom, Dad & Janet. We had a day-after Thanksgiving dinner with left-overs on Friday night (they were all new to us though after coming from Nehalem). The weather was gorgeous on Saturday, but got REALLY stormy early Sunday morning. (Hit some snow on the summit coming home.) Rourke and I took a quick trip to Lincoln City and Chinook Winds Casino. Woo-hoo!! (not really...lost our money but had free pop!! :) )

Here are a few pictures from our long Thanksgiving weekend. I didn't do too great of a job capturing our real Thanksgiving dinner.......:(

Bye for now.

Crafty Ladies

Here are a few of the things I have been working on for the "Crafty Ladies" bazaar....and another bazaar coming up. There are still a few more things I would like to try (bracelets, earrings, and more).....but I just need to get motivated! :)

First Day of Preschool

This past Thursday was Malia's first day of preschool (now that she is 3). Here is a picture of her and Alex on our way out the door. She loved school and can't wait to go back this coming week. I can't believe she was started "school". She even has her first HOMEWORK! Okay, it's only decorating a feather for the turkey they are making. ;O)

HALLOWEEN!

After the birthday festivities died down (barely), it was HALLOWEEN!! Grandpa Chuck, Grandma Jan, and Grandma Jeaneen came over to Trick or Treat with us. This was the first year that Malia was really excited about the whole thing, and really "got it". Malia was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, and Alex was the Cowardly Lion. She would have liked Rourke and I to dress up as the the Scarecrow and the Good Witch, but it didn't happen this year. :)
I'm still not sure if she had more fun trick or treating, or giving out candy at our house. Everytime the door bell rang, she would scream with excitement and run as fast as possible to the door....unfortunately her new "Dorothy" shoes were a little slippery on the wood floors! :)

Too bad it was sooooo cold and windy Halloween night. Dorothy had to wear a coat (her new birthday coat, thanks Bestul family!), tights and a shirt under her costume. :( What a drag! We did a short trip down our street and around the cul-de-sac to visit our favorite neighbors. Alex went out for a bit too. It was plenty of candy for us......I mean Malia. Ha ha.

Just the Guys... (and one crazy girl)

I love this picture of Rourke, Alex, and Grandpa John.

The guys, kicking back watching a game. Notice the remote control. It's one thing Alex has really loved for months. Funny how young that obsession begins.
:O)

Birthdays, Birthdays, Birthdays!!

I am still catching up on posting pictures from the past week. I have been sick (again), so it's taking me forever to do anything it seems. Here are a few pictures from last weekend when we celebrated Malia's 3rd birthday (I can't believe she is 3!!), along with Rourke, Cousin Kelli, Mom & Dad. October is a big birthday month for my side and also Rourke's side of the family. We celebrated at our traditional DIM SUM lunch earlier in October with the Renz family. :) We had the party at our house, and Malia got to choose what kind of party she wanted. She chose to have a "Halloween Party"......at first I think she thought everyone was going to dress up! We settled on a Halloween theme.

Here are a few pictures from the party......and a couple of other birthday pics (non-party).

It was a fun time.

I love the last picture of Malia playing the harmonica.......Alex LOVES it every time.

Plumper Pumpkin Patch

I am a little behind on posting what we have been up to! On Saturday, October 21st Rourke, Malia, Alex, Yaya Peggy and I went to the PLUMPER PUMPKIN PATCH! It's our 3rd year in a row. It was a gorgeous day with a lot of other folks out at the same time.......and a Cub Scout troop too........ugh. Anyway, we saw the animals, (Alex wasn't sure about the goats that wanted to get to know him a little better), went through 2 hay mazes, went down the big slides (there was a new HUGE one), and for Malia the best part was the pony ride. This year she got to ride "Squeakers". Here are a few pics from that day....................
